The Youths Digest Campus Journalism Initiative has extended the submission deadline for the 7th edition of the Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) 2025 to Monday, October 20, 2025, giving more student journalists across Nigeria the opportunity to participate.
In a new development, the organisers introduced a Fact-Checking Category to recognise campus journalists who demonstrate excellence in verification and truth-based reporting.
Originally set for Tuesday, October 14, the deadline was extended to allow wider participation and provide intending applicants additional time to finalise their submissions.
This year’s edition, themed “AI and the Future of Journalism,” explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping storytelling, ethics, and the future of media practice.
The grand award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Abuja, where the winners will be unveiled.
The 2025 edition will honour 30 finalists across 15 categories, including:
Entertainment Writer, Sports Writer, Reporter, Gender Equality Reporter, Broadcaster, Photojournalist, Pen Club, Author (Book), Social Media Influencer, Investigative Journalist, Features Writer, Editor, Print Magazine, Syndicated Writer, and Fact-Checker (new category).
