CLAIM
A news story on myschoolnews.com.ng has made its way to the public eye. This news story claims that schools will remain closed until 2021 as COEASU aligns with ASUP, and ASUU, against reopening of Tertiary Institutions.

ROUNDCHECK FINDINGS
After consulting the Public Relations Officer of College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Dr Ahmed Lawan it has been discovered that the union isn’t on strike.
“COEASU is not on strike, they only declared an Industrial Action against government and also asked their members to suspend community services, For now all other academic responsibilities are on going” Dr ahmed said
CONCLUSION
According to the PRO of COEASU, as long as the government provides the facilities for the prevention of COVID-19, in the schools, then resumption is safe. Therefore, this claim is false.
