10th Year Anniversary: ROUNDCHECK Celebrates ICIR, Commends Team For Combating Misinformation 

ROUNDCHECK, a fact-checking platform in Nigeria has described the International Centre for Investigation Reporting (ICIR) as an organization that has contributed immensely to the practice of journalism in Nigeria and globally. 

According to a statement by the Executive Director, Caleb Ijioma, ICIR has empowered budding members of the Fourth Estate in carrying out their activities via mentorship and award grants by supplying them with support of different grades.

Particularly, the Fact-check Hub -a platform under the aegis of ICIR- has laid its mark as a much sought-after Fact-Check arena in an age and era of information disorder, sponsored by the ease of internet and social media usage.

The ICIR on her 10th year anniversary of successful works, commemorate her achievement with an international conference which held at The Transcorp Hilton in  Abuja. The conference was titled “media sustainability in Nigeria” and was graced by well-meaning media personnel.

ROUNDCHECK joined other leagues of fact-checkers worldwide to celebrate ICIR on her decade-long epoch-making anniversary of societal impact, ethical operation, and journalistic exploits.

ljioma encouraged the esteemed organization not to relent in promoting the ethical, balanced journalistic practice in Nigeria, even in the face of stiff opposition. 

He said “we hope to collaborate with the Organization for impact-making in the Nigerian journalistic space. Once again, accept our sincere felicitation on this epoch-making anniversary.”
