In a report published by a blog, campusnewsui.com on Friday, 4th of September,2020 , it claimed that the federal government of Nigeria receives Russia’s covid-19 vaccine. Campusnewsui.com in their report claim that Russia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Alexey Shebarshin, delivered the samples to the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, during a visit to the ministry in Abuja.
‘‘Also present at the event were the Minister of State for Health, Olorunnimbe Mamora; top management of the Health Ministry and other Nigerian Scientists,” campusnewsui reported.
ROUND CHECK FINDINGS
Early August, the Russian government declared that Russia has discover a vaccine to tackle the covid 19 pandemic. According to Guardian newspaper online publication published on 4th of September 2020 at 2.17pm, guardian.ng reported that Nigeria receives samples of Covid 19 vaccines from Russia.
Quoting the report on guardian ng, ‘‘Russia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Alexey Shebarshin, delivered the samples to Nigeria’s health minister Osagie Ehanire during a visit to Abuja.”
‘‘Ehanire said the vaccine would be quickly referred to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) as well as the Nigeria Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, amongst other agencies, for review and possible validation.”
“We are exploring all knowledge in terms of therapeutics and vaccines,” Ehanire said.

On the official twitter account of the Federal Ministry of Health, the minister of health Dr Osagie Ehanire was said to have been in a meeting with the Russian ambassador to Nigeria.

CONCLUSION
It is true that Federal government of Nigeria receives samples of Russia’s Covid 19 vaccines, however, that does connote that the vaccine is ready for usage, according to the minister of health, the vaccine is said to undergo further testing by NAFDAC.
