In a news report by myschoolnews, it was stated that the FG has released 21 September as the resumption date for all schools in Nigeria

ROUNDCHECK FINDINGS

The news report has only been seen on myschoolnews. An excerpt of the report claimed that the Federal Government fixed September 21 for completion of first semester examinations in Tertiary Institutions.

“having conducted an assessment of schools within the country to ascertain the level of preparations for general reopenings of schools in the country, the federal government has scheduled schools to resume from the COVID-19 break on September 21 for a completion of first semester examinations for tertiary institutions and abridged third term of the 2019/2020 academic session for primary and secondary schools which is expected to end on October 30,2020”

CONCLUSION

This claim is false. It is important to note that the FG has not released any official date for schools resumption. Recently, the Federal Government posited that schools that have met certain requirements can resume. Read here
